Experience one of the largest urban historic districts recognized by the National Register of Historic Places in a new season. We have ended our fall tour and have moved it to the spring so that you can enjoy the 1,300 homes in Heritage Hill in full bloom. Our neighborhood homes date from 1843 and represent the best of American architecture.

This is the 42nd year that Heritage Hill has opened its doors to visitors and the first time since the early 1970’s that we are back to the spring.

  • Saturday, May 21 - Tour Time: 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 22 - Tour Time: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Eight private houses and 2 historic buildings await you and offer an array of architecture, colors, decorating styles, and great urban gardens.

Princess Diana and Bodies Revealed!

01-05-2011
Currently, the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) is showing the Princess Diana exhibit with her dresses, a replica of her wedding cake, letters, jewels and more.  It's a perfect chance to see into the life of this modern icon.

The Van Andel (Public) museum is showing the Bodies Revealed exhibit.  This is an amazing show of real bodies specially encased in polymer.  It's not for the faint of heart, but shows muscles in mostion, healthy or diseased organs, bones, tissues, nerves.  Each body shows something different, so the body showing the nervous system has had all other parts removed so the nerves are the only thing one sees.

Advance tickets are generally required and they have specific time slots.  See each museum's website for details.

ArtPrize Installs!

09-05-2010
We've got artists installing left & right here!

Please excuse our "dust":  it feels (& probably looks) like we're moving.  What we're really doing is packing up the little things & small furniture and removing our own artwork in preparation for ArtPrize.  We try to provide a nice clean "canvas" for our artists' work...no distractions from knick knacks or extraneous artwork.  And we remove small furniture to provide nice open spaces for our AP viewers.  In a couple of weeks, when AP kicks off, it'll be a whole new scene for 2 1/2 weeks.
